Nomenclatural History
The species Salmonella arizonae was originally described by Kauffmann 1964. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. This name was placed onto the nomina taxorum rejicienda by Judicial Opinion 80 in 2005. In 1982, Le Minor et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form corrig. (Borman 1957) Le Minor et al. 1985 . In 2005, Tindall et al. reduced this species to the rank of subspecies to form (Borman 1957) Le Minor and Popoff 1987 pro synon. Salmonella choleraesuis arizonae corrig. (Borman 1957) Le Minor et al. 1985 pro synon. Salmonella cholerae-suis arizonae (sic) (Borman 1957) Le Minor et al. 1985 .
