Nomenclatural History
The family Streptomycetaceae was originally proposed by Waksman and Henrici 1943. This name appeared on the Approved Lists of Bacterial Names 1980. Stackebrandt et al. published an emended description of this family in 1997. Subsequent emendations were proposed by Kim et al. in 2003, Zhi et al. in 2009 and Huang et al. in 2017.
